Hello My 81's engine is getting close to the grave, one of my heads is going south, and the motor is leaking oil out of every orifice. I am considering buying a motor from importmotor.com, and having a local VW mechanic (he is very big on old double cabs) install it. I was wondering if anyone on the list knows anything about importmotor and or another route to go to save some $$$ as the holidays are upon us. I thought about just replacing the bad head, and chasing down the leaks which I tend to think are the push rod tubes, or the head itself. Is this just going to be a band aide on a bigger problem, is there an aircooled guru in SoCal, specifically the Eagle Rock -- Glendale -- Pasadena area?
