>VW calls it a SUV SUV is a meaningless term. Sport? Where's the sport in these tanks? Utility? Most are of no more utility than a normal wagon. Many are too big to park at a meter. All are pige to drive in town, with wide bodies, terrible turning circles and in the US ones utterly dangerous chassis dynamics (handling). Many have zero real offroad ability (Hummers are too wide; Suburbans too wide & too long). Some are not even 4WD! Vehicle? I'll concede this one. They also tend to be weak in accidents, despite the popular myth of "bigger is safer". -- Andrew Grebneff Dunedin, New Zealand 64 (3) 473-8863 <andrew.grebneff@stonebow.otago.ac.nz> Fossil preparator Seashell, Macintosh & VW/Toyota van nut |
