The best way I know to put on chains/cables is to have one or two 2x6 cut to fit in the space between the links. lay the chains down on the ground, and place a block in between the links, 1/3 or 1/4 from the end - then drive forward (backward) until your vehicle is setting on the block. Now you can bring the chain over and adjust it, tighten it and make sure it is good and then after you drive off the block you can do the other (don't leave your blocks). the chain has nothing on it so you can get it real tight THE FIRST TIME (WOW).
