Peter, Yes there was seepage of coolant from the heads that started during last winter and continued into the spring. Seems like I read on this list that part of the problem is due to the differential expansion and contraction of the aluminum in the heads, the iron in the block and the rubber in the gasket. Never heard of head work being done due to the "missing" problem that you have described. As others have suggested... fuel filter? fuel pump. grounds? grounds? grounds? You might also check on the various grounds! Maybe clean the contacts on the computer module under the rear seat?
