I had that problem. I tightened up the screws on the locks for the door, and installed a tiny little bumper at the forward end of the door roller track. That bumper is a vanagon part and is supposed to be there. If it is not, it may have some bearing on the overall snugness of the door. At worst, if its missing, the door slamming shut is doing so metal to metal and will eventually cause metal fatigue and failure. I got my bumper stop from Camelback VW in Phoenix, AZ
