You can see the Yakima bike rack mounted on the back of my van in this pic. I get 2 bikes on there just as-is and for local trips can easily get 4 with the added fork mounts and rear wheel trays. That upper bar position keeps the bikes below the roof line so they don't get "scraped off" going into parking structures/garages etc. I'm not 5'4" but it's very easy to get the bike onto the fork mount.
