indeed the engine compartment hoses.. and though I have an extra set (in reserve) I am one that would prefer to run easier to replace onthe road straight hose and copper fittinggs.. when cleaned and painted black the fittings are surprisingly good looking.

besides I removed my oil to water cooler they are prone to failure with age and leak oil in the water misleading to a bad head gasket.. so that those 'looped' lines would look out of place anyways..

the stock diesel hoses aren't all as readily available from the stealership and they cost more then I paid for any of my 3 diesels individually. but 15+ years down the road i may install them for the historical and vintage reasons, till then i'll run modified stock hoses.

though I wonder whtat the TIICO hoses are and if they are more reasonably priced then the 81-83 diesels.

I would like to know if I coudl order individual TIICO parts but i haven't recieved any confirmation from their customer service.

items like overflow bottles.. and hoses would be handy.. as would be spare flywheels or oil pans.

And the engine bay cooling hoses, though people have scabbed up alternatives.

While the overflow bottle is unique (and there were two different versions) you could probably adapt one from another car. There's nothing too unusual about it.

This is the same as a VW Dasher diesel manifold. The header pipe and muffler are unique to the Vanagon, however.
