I don't think it takes an insurance expert to realize that it is quite a
gamble to not have the max liabilty, usually 100K/300K  The extra cost is
nothing, and losing everything you own in a accident can't possibly have a
cost attached to it. Cars repair/replacement is costly, and medical costs
are over the top. If the damage is your fault, the injured party is likely
going to take you to the cleaners.

My agent once told me that if I had $100K in assets, it would be best to
have at 100K in insurance or it could all go away in one incident. OTOH,
when I got divorced and the wife took it all, he told me to go with
minimal liability as I no longer had anything anyone could sue me for,
except my van :-)

Too bad idiots are allowed to drive without insurance, or we could roll
the cost off the uninsured motorist and put it onto liability.......

Insurance is just government sanctioned theft anyway.......
