Adam,

If you can push it down by hand while pressing the window switch, you probably have a bad window regulator.

If you do need one, we sell brand new VW OEM regulators (either side) for $129.95 plus shipping.

On my 90 Vanagon, the driver's side window does not go all the way down. It lacks about 4 inches from being all the way down. Is this normal on driver's side? Passenger side goes down fully...............
