Ok, two questions on a 82 Vanagon with a 2.0L Type 4 engine I'm piecing
back together (I was given the van.)

1.      What am I missing in these two pictures:

The area is circled.  Something defiantly connects to this.  I think it
connects to the hose circled in green on the second picture as this hose
goes no where.

The red circle  - something looks like it's just missing.

2.      I have put back on a piston and 2 jugs and the head etc.  With
the coil disconnected and the dist cap off, I tried to crank the engine
to get oil in the case (get the oil light to go off.)  But when I do,
The starter goes CLONK but doesn't turn the engine over.  The battery is
good, even tried a different battery and tried it with my 50A quick
charger connected and on.  Voltage on the battery is 12v and drops to
9.7v when the starter goes CLONK.  Any ideas here?
