>I, for one would not drive one of those new microbus minivans (those things >are supposed to be no bigger than a Nissan Quest...i might as well >buy a Nissan >Quest, thell be cheaper).. What else is as big as the current vw van? >nothing really.. didnt GMC can the safari/astro too? that was the only >competition the EV had.. >anyway.. i digress.. maybe the daimler-chrysler Sprinters will be cheap >enough to own by then.. The Sprinter, also sold with VW LT badges, is not a reliable vehicle, apparently (well well, how surprising). It also looks like a crude cardboard box. All it lacks is corrugations... The Astro wasn't a proper van. Like some of the Mercedes vans being sold here, it is really a stationwagon. The roof is far too low for items that would easily fit into a VW or Japanese van. My Hiace can hold more and larger itrems than a similar-sized VW van, due to lack of the engine hump. -- Andrew Grebneff Dunedin, New Zealand 64 (3) 473-8863 <andrew.grebneff@stonebow.otago.ac.nz> Fossil preparator Seashell, Macintosh & VW/Toyota van nut |
