Damon,

First, go to 20W-50 or Mobil 15W-50 with the proper filter (see below) and see if the problem goes away, then worry about the technical stuff. Does it click at start and go away after a few minutes or continue to click? Important distinction. Former is rather common.

And as you will be changing oil, what are you using for an oil filter? That can also make a difference. Most of us use the German made ones, Mann/Mahle, available from the various "list vendors" although supposedly a few US made models have the same features. Some sort of internal valve. Explained in depth repeatedly in the archives.

You might still want to add some Marvel Mystery Oil. Many also recommend that you only put in about 4 qts., just enough to get over the minimum line on the dipstick.
