I have a quote from a Vanagon specialist for doing the work
... he is well aware of the problems ... what I thought was
a very expensive quote suddenly seems very reasonable
indeed!
In our neck of the woods, the cost of adding a poptop far outweighs the cost
of a real Westy. Unless you are attached to your van, it makes more sense to
sell it and but a real Westy instead. The price difference is not significant
enough to make it worth doing the work. BTDT.
