You have all probably seen the new Toyota Quest ad on TV. I really had to chuckle (and feel somewhat superior) when I see the ad trying to sell the public on the "utility" of the vehicle. They boast hauling 1 set of golf clubs (yes one) or one surf board, or one saddle or one table. Yes "or" not "and." What a joke. Only a vanagon owner would see the ludicrous nature of these ads. To top it off all this stuff was hauled on the top of the seats, or folded down rear seat to accommodate a table. I'd love to see them attempt some 12 foot long lumber or appliances like a stove, dishwasher or larger item. And if one owns a camper there is the added utility of a kitchen, bedroom, office meeting place or you name it. Is the public that gullible? The more I see those ads the more I feel like buying another vanagon just for the hauling feature. I have one friend who uses a second vanagon as a moveable storage place. William |
