The VR6 was detuned to 140hp down from the 172hp in the Passat and Corrado.
This is so they could get more torque on the bottom end.

The I5 motor is basically the same as an I4 motor with one more cylinder
'tacked' on there.  Only again detuned to make more torque and less HP so
the 109 sounds right.

the '93-95 eurovan 5cyl is 109hp.    the 140hp sounds like the Vr6 in the
'97
up EV.
