Ben,

Thanks for the advertising, but I think Zoltan up in Seattle is going to buy the '90 Multivan I have for sale (once I get around to checking a few things out for him).

This thread should die the painful death it deserves...

Cheers,

Jeff

In a message dated 12/11/2003 7:04:52 AM Pacific Standard Time, drillock@EARTHLINK.NET writes: Ben, most people don't lose thousands of dollars by taking weekends off and are off on weekends because their employer is closed then. Most people couldn't make thousands of dollars by working a given weekend and any who can might well be advised to do so and then pay someone else for vehicle work.

Those guys should never have started projects that they didn't understand. Maybe they should have looked into doing it the easy way. The poptop is not part of the bed. You can install a top and then add a bed months or years later if you decide you want that or when the kids grow too tall to sleep up there without it. Break the project up into logical pieces and success is easier to obtain. Mark,

At the risk of repeating myself, I simply want to bring another perspective into view. Not everybody has the same resources. Not everybody has the same skills. Heck, that's the reason repair shops can stay in business.

Here's an example. I have a 1988 Vanagon Wolfsburg Edition (no poptop). I can easily sell this for $2000. maybe more. Jeff in Sacto has a similar model with the Weekender package (the poptop kind). Me thinks he was asking around that same neighborhood. Condition is similar. I'd rather buy his and sell mine rather than "cut and paste" a poptop together. That's what I'm talkin' about.
