Lemme see, 15 years at 10000mi per year  is only 150K more than what ben has
now on his 3lb short handled beater.  My Massive White Long beater will
still be firmly trundling along if I can snap up a few svx spares for the
closet and keep the mildew out of the canvas.  Preventive Maintenance is the
answer unless you live in PA where the Lieutenant Governor is way kewl and
the locals salt the roads rather than learn how to drive.  All done in the
cause of safety and security and sponsored by the automobile dealerships
consortium for the benefit of the children or somesuch.  Whilst those in the
rust belt, ever wonder why they call it that?, watch the steady conversion
of their trusted steeds to ferric chloride and Fe2O3 with a tear in their
eye, those like BenT who live in an enlightened society where even a poor
austrian boy can rise to groping greatness, can watch the taxes and
restrictions on operation rise to such a high level that it will be
advantageous to sell the too-expensive-to-license white beaters to the
lustees in the rust belt for astronomical prices, and by a UJA.

Every time that wheel goes around, we're bound to cover just a little more
ground...
