Although the idea has been raised (razed?) before, has anyone done a 2L
16V I4 Vanagon conversion?
How about a 1.8T?

almost a year of prototyping.  This means that you can now install any
inline four cylinder engine from the New Beetle, Golf IV, Jetta IV and
the Passat into your Vanagon.

We have been able to reduce the price of our 1999 I4 mounting kits by
$100 - making the it even easier to go to I4 power in your Vanagon.
