If you want to minimize the damage to engine components, it's hard to beat a Halon extinguisher. They're expensive, but from what I've heard they're the most effective you can buy. Halon is illegal to manufacture now (it's an ozone-depleting chemical) but it's still legal to recycle into new extinguishers. Fire decomposes it so putting out a fire with it is actually the best way to get rid of it. ;) |
