re: Driving in NYC As a previous NY'er I can tell you it is better to stay over in Jersey City possibly at the Double Tree hotel, the Marriot or the Hyatt on Washington St. These are all new hotels and the rates would be a lot cheaper than NYC. You can park in their secure parking lot and then take the PATH train, located within a block of the train ($1.50), into NYC. You can transfer at the 33rd St. Station in NYC (off the PATH) and take another train (I'm not sure which one but you can contact the NY MTA) to within a block of Yankee Stadium. Yankee Stadium does have parking, contrary to someone else's pro-Mets remarks although I wouldn't recommend it. I would suggest mass transit and staying in Jersey City to save money and avoid getting your van broken into. John no more 86 Syncro We are planning a trip for next summer that includes (hopefully) getting to see a Yankees game. We would like to stay at a hotel near the ballpark, if possible, or stay farther out and take public transportation but am concerned about parking my Westy with all our junk in it. Having never been to NYC can any local members give us some tips on getting around there. Thanks for any help. Spencer 85 Westy |
