10 years of non-leaky. Mine started to leak after only a few years; but I
still have the original pipes. The end piece (the rib) came off and I threw
it away (1995). It leaked so I had to improvise. It started to leak again
last month. When I took it apart the Teflon pipe had been deteriorated a
bit more. This allowed me to get rid of the improvisation and just use a 9"
x 1.5" coolant hose (the kind with the spring inside [from Schucks]) and two
hose clamps... No leaks!!!

The ends have separated. This happens with the plastic pipes/metal
ends. You need to replace the plastic pipes with new ones from the
dealer. This will fix the problem and should give you another 10 years
of non-leakiness.

Hey now volks,
I have been having a really hard time getting the main coolant pipes to
stop leaking where they connect to main rad hoses behind spare tire
carrier. It appears the hoses were replaced by PO, I never touched them,
just started leaking. It seems as though I have one fixed but the
connection to the lower hose will not quit dripping. I felt around on
the connection and it does not feel like the pipe is cracked which I
heard can happen. How often are these long plastic pipes supposed to be
replaced. Are they dealer only? Local dealer in Asheville NC said $109
for one $159 for other / spc order. Seems like if it is not cracked it
shoud seal. Any suggestions? All help appreciated.
Have a Grateful Day
Michael
