Skip,

The fuel pump relay is a very generic relay. Can be had for $3.95 from Bus Depot, $5.00 from VanAgain, etc. Maybe less at a FLAPS. Have seen them for less than $2 on the net. I recently installed one from BD that had been sitting around for several years in my 85. Had bought several parts to fix the bucking problem in my 84 and solved it before ever installing the relay. So when the new to me 85 was having some problems I stuck it in and it made a substantial difference in the performance of the van.

There are a number of relays on the Vanagon that are exactly the same and this is one of them. Search for relay on the BD parts search and pick the generic one for $3.95 and read all the different functions this relay can perform on this VW and many others.
