Don't laugh....but back in 1941 or so, VW build a special Beetle w/4 wheel drive (Type 82e) for an endurance test and they drove it from Berlin to Afganistan. The Beetle got left in Kabul because the war started going badly for the Germans....maybe Osama has dug it up!
