I've been lucky. This has happened to me on 2 different vans and both times it was a loose nut..... no, not me but a legitimate first consideration. Pop the small black cap off the "hub" with a flat blade screw driver and clean all the corrosion and rust and gunk out of the "well" where the nut sits. I unscrewed the nut, popped the wiper off, cleaned everything up real well, put the wiper back on and tightened the nut using a small open end wrench. Worked fine.

Hi volks,

Tried my wipers the other day and only the passenger side worked. Obviously the motor is OK.

Has anyone BTDT?

Cheers, Phil '89 Westfalia
