of course!!   come on eric... thats a blanket statement right there.  the
fact that fuel lines crack is common knowlege..     i just replaced a fuel line
last weekend on my dad's caprice.. full of cracks.. disaster waiting to happen.
 would have been more of a disaster if the car was FI, like our vanagons.
fuel lines are rubber, and rubber decomposes over time and when subjected to
high temps.
everybody knows that..
ive seen my share of burned up vw buses and vans to know that replacing fuel
lines is one othe more important things you can do..   its like replacing the
timing belt in a 16v inline vw motor..   as a preventive maintenance measure.
 if the timing belt breaks on a interference (16v) engine, your head/valves
etc are trashed.  if your fuel lines rot out, and spray fuel injected
PRESSURIZED fuel all over your hot engine, youve got an engine fire.
