Eric and John,

You are both right. The right way is dependnent of whether you are the seller or the buyer.

My personal practice is to establish what I want. When I can't decide, I throw it on a "no reserve auction" or as is my usual practice on the list by saying "best offer over $XXX by xx/xx/2003.

This little discussion of yours will only piss you guys off at each other. So John, I am happy to pay $50 for your Syncro. That's because shipping to SF is ridiculous. I'm sure you will be selling it to someone else. Eric, just give him a ridiculous offer. If he takes it, you got a deal. If not? NEXT.... Now yu guys kiss and make out... I mean make up.

There is always another deal around the corner.

Happy, happy. Joy, joy.

BenT
