I'm pretty sure I've gotten either a wrench or socket on that thing, but you can always use the 'wedge the screwdriver' method and loosen from the top. :) I don't remember it being particularly difficult (tranny out 4 times in two months... don't ask... :) ). I do remember I had my brother do the top portion of the nut/bolt combo on reassembly while I held the bottom, but removal must have went smooth every time, cause I can't remember details.
