Hi Robert,
Sorrier than simple words can express for your loss. The passion, joy, and
visceral enjoyment you've gotten from your pride and joy Carat is
remarkable. The patience and singlemindedness in your selection process not
something I've personally had the impulse control to experience. But, it's
also a speed-bump in the parking lot of your vanagon life, if you want it to
be.
I hope you get another real soon so you can continue your considerable,
wonderful, stewardship of vanagonitis, BLAZING the trail for the rest of us
novices. Oh, by the way, replace the fuel lines on Van-Addict when you get
him. Or is she Vanna-Flamma. Whomever, don't abandon the Vanagon's, they,
and we, need you.

I run to the back of the van to see ³dark black smoke² billowing out of rear
drivers side of the van near the oil filter,

I then aim the extinguisher at the fire area and hit it, the extinguisher is
out in 8 seconds! I canıt believe it!...
