I've been there and done that with the front blower motor replacement, and the thought of lubricating the motor without removing the dash is impossible. It is sealed up and really impossible to get at without removing the dash. You might be able to partially remove the dash and attempt to lube the motor, but really once you are half way through the job, you might as well go for it all. It really isn't one of my :dreaded" memories as Vanagon jobs go. It might be possible to rig something up once you get in there and replace the motor, so that you can lube the motor every year and stave off the second front blower motor replacement 10 years or so from now. ??
