Subject: Ignition Switch Electrical Repair
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi All:

Had an aw "sh*t" this evening when working on my idle problem. I shorted out my timing light to ground. As I was getting my 12 volts from the black wire to the coil, this caused the wire going to my ignition switch to heat up and melt. The worse part is that it melted the electrical portion of the ignition switch so that now I can't turn the key.

Anyone know of a good description on how to remove this? Bentleys states that I have to drill the lock housing and remove the tumbler. Can I still use the housing when I am done as I am sure that this will be hard to find? Anyone ever done this without removing the steering wheel?

TIA Regards, --Jeff Strickrott 82 Westy, South Florida
