I just replaced both sections. The electrical portion is very easy, once you get the wheel off. There is no drilling needed for the electrical part, just the part with the lock.

The hardest part, for me, was getting the black plastic sleeve loose. It's a tight fit, but I was able to work it off by prying with a flat blade screwdriver.
