I'm curious about this also. My 88 GL has the same problem. The rear pad and insulating cover over the engine hatch is wet by the right rear window each time it rains. Doesn't appear to be from the rear hatch, but the rear side window somehow. I did pull that plastic locking bead out because it was so faded and broken in places.
