In some parts of Canada they are spraying calcium and other places a nitrogen mixture... I don't think either are very good for metal. :( David Marshall Fast Forward Automotive Inc. 4356 Quesnel-Hixon Road Quesnel BC Canada V2J 6Z3 http://www.fastforward.ca mailto:sales@fastforward.ca Phone: (250) 992 7775 FAX: (250) 992 1160 - Vanagon Accessories and Engine Conversions - Vanagon, Transporter and Iltis Sales and Importation - European Lighting for most Volkswagen models -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com]On Behalf Of Jason Willenbrock Sent: January 2, 2004 11:37 AM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: nasty realization
hey all, today i was driving thru main street in darby montana (in the bitterroots) when a DOT truck was coming from the other direction plowing the roads. as he was plowing he was spraying some sort of liquid from behind his truck. now i immediatley got p*&^ed off because i figured it was some sort of salt solution. now, i am sure in montana they are not allowed to salt the roads with the environmental groups and all. so if this is true what could they be spraying? i have heard of stories of them spraying really bad areas with salt without general public knowing. what is this? could it be true that it is indeed salt? i am not happy about this because this is one of my favorite things about living here, knowing my vans can survive winters without rust! so if this is salt, and if it is not allowed in montana, what can be done here? i would love to voice about this! any help or insight here? very disgruntled! jason 87 syncro westy 90gl 87 wolfsburg
