Hello Helpful Ones! I have a 1987 Westy 2.1 that I keep in a barn in the winter for storage. I go out and start it once a month to keep things up. I just went and started it today and it was idling fine for a few minutes and then jumped up to just over 4000 RPMs and stayed there. The throdle cable is free and the linkage moves fine. It will rev higher and then returns to 4000 RPM. Does anyone have any ideas? Your help and advise is alway greatly appreciated. Wishing you many miles of smiles in your Vanagons!
