The wires run from the back of the radio along the top
of the fresh air duct, through the 'A' pillar on the
right side of the windshield and up into the roof.
There is a channel inside the roof they run inside all
the way to the inside of the evaporator housing. The
left-side speaker cable comes out of the evap housing
and crosses under the evap blower output then goes
back into the evap housing to the back of the
left-side speaker. The panel over the rear seat with
the A/C ducts in it covers up this wire.
Start by checking the speakers themselves. You should
be able to reach the back of the speakers (if you have
skinny arms) if you remove the rear cover from the
evap housing (the part with the grill). You might be
able to twist the threaded speaker hold-down bracket,
loosening the speaker. Once you get the nut all the
way off, the speaker will come out of the front of the
housing.
If you have the capablilty to test-tone the wiring,
put a tone on the cable from the radio harness to see
if the problem is the radio itself.
If it turns out to be wiring, you have some work to
do. The upper bunk support panel above the sliding
door will need to come off and the A/C duct panel over
the rear seat. You should be able to lower the front
headliner enough for access by removing the sun
visors. Chances are the wiring is OK unless someone
has been working around the wiring path.

Good luck,
