Subject: anther speedo problem
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed

I recently replaced the front wheel bearings in my 84 GL which required pulling the speedo cable out of the left front hub. I unintentionally pulled the cable way out of it's sheath but pushed it back easily so I wasn't expecting any problems. This is the cable that runs to the OXS idiot light counter box, not to the speedo itself. Anyway, now the odometer doesn't work. The speedometer needle works but not the odometer. It seems any cable problem would affect both the speedo and the odometer not just one or the other. Is this just some weird coincidence? Normally I wouldn't worry about it too much but my gas gauge doesn't work and now I have no idea when I need gas. Guess I'll have to use a stick down the ol' filler neck. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thomas Brobst
