I put the passenger side only in my van, which was born as an 86 weekender. I don't recall any interference with the battery box, but mine had no metal top on it... No noticeable slop in the mechanism. It does raise the seat up, but I don't think it moves it forward. being able to rotate the passenger seat 180 for camping is really great. It seems to open up the main area a lot, and gives a nice comfortable seat without taking up any floor space. Being able to turn the driver's seat 90 degrees just wasn't desirable for me, so I didn't do that side. Edward
