Gary,

I recently changed my waterpump and thermostat and found that my bleeder hose had been plugged, most likely with some kind of rad seal the PO had put in prior to changing the heads. The diameter of the hole to the bleeder is small, less than 1/16th of an inch, after all it's just a high point vent. I'd recommend popping the thermostat housing off and cleaning if you have suspicions.
