Subject: Front seal choice

I need to replace the front engine seal (between engine and trans) on my '85 Westy along with the clutch, and I read in the archives that there are two different seals (with one being better than the other) under the same VW number.

Anyone know if the one that comes with the Elring engine gasket set is a good one to use? If not .... how does one make sure that the right one is being ordered?

There is no part # on the seal but it does have "75 x 95 x 10 FPM / ACM Elring"

Thanks,

Mike Houlton, Maine '84 GL 7 Pass '85 GL Westy
