Subject: Restoration -- Phase 3 -- Exterior
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Over the past five months I have completed the first two phases of restoring my '84 7-passenger to hear new condition. Phase 1 was the rebuilt engine and most all related items and Phase 2 was new brakes, wheel bearings, and related items.

Phase 3 will be a complete redo of the exterior including removal of windows, trim, etc., before painting and repair of all rusted areas and dents. I has some spare time this afternoon, and I took the van over to Harrison's Body and Glass here in Macon, GA, and the boss lady gave me a price of $4000 plus I would have to supply all new window seals, etc.

I know some of you have had the same type of exterior restoration done to your vans. I would appreciate knowing: 1) what you had done; 2) what went wrong or you would have done differently; 3) how much did it or should it cost; and 4) where do I get all the window seals, etc.?

John Lauterbach Macon, GA '84 7-passenger
