I've recently read here and on the TiiCo site that the conversion has been California certified and an "executive order" (?) has been issued. But I spoke w/ Peter at TiiCo today and he said that he was still waiting on the EO... It didn't phase me too much during our conversation, but after going back and reading to the contrary in the archives (and on the tiico site!), I'm now confused. Is it CA legal? Can it be smogged just as any other car? What's different about the process? Any first-hand experience? If I were to purchase an out of state Vanagon, which had the TiiCo conversion done prior to CARB approval, would that be a problem? And on a more general (and debateable) note... What would I be getting myself into by purchasing a TiiCo van? I've heard many opinions about the conversion, most being extremely for or against. I'm far less mechanically inclined than most folks here. With the Bentley, this list and decent mechanic I've been able to keep my current wbx running... But what flavor worms would I be cracking open w/ such a van? Thanks, James 90 Carat |
