This is not abuse, this appears to be a free roaming Vanagon mating pair.
The people who own this home are probably trying to breed them.  And as we
all know Vanagons need lots of TLC along with a nice home.

Looks like Vanagon abuse to me.

Why are the Vanagons out in the field when there's a nice cozy garage just
up the hill??
