The bleed line will hiss when the valve is open. When the tank is at 80%, liquid propane will be discharged.

Hi,

I looked through the archives but didn't find an answer to my question:

When I go to get my propane tank filled, I understand the procedure to be:

-attach fill line -open small bleed valve to right of fill line -fill tank

When I open the bleed valve, is propane supposed to hiss out all the time, or just when the tank is full? I've been afraid to open it all the way because of fear of fires.

Thanks!
