If these are the BA-6 models that came on vanagons they are not really practical for "dry" camping with no hookups because they draw too much current. If i remember correctly they use around 9 amps on startup and 3-5 amps while running. You'd need an awefully big battery in the vanagon to keep the sucker running. This is a problem with lot of forced air RV furnaces. The best ive seen is: http://www.ducktec.com/itm00026.htm for BTU/amperage although nothing beats the plat cat which uses like .5 amps (no big fan) although i found 5800 btu's to provide too little warmth in the vanagon. Some of the newer eberspachers use around 2.5-3 amps, the propex heaters that carl is selling are also very good at 1.3 for the EX1800, 1.8 for the HS2800. In any case you need a good deep cycle battery for any forced air heater (except the plat cat), and would need several for a BA-6 eberspacher.
