I would bench bleed it. When I put a new clutch master cylinder in my Honda, I didn't bench bleed, and it took about a hundred strokes before it started to pick up fluid properly. That was a serious pain in the butt. Once it did pick up, it only took about fifteen more strokes to purge the whole system.
