Subject: Blue indicators
Content-type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset=us-ascii

Got my blue indicators from VW ISP West. They're a bit brighter than the two tones of blue on my Caravelle, but ought to give a nice touch. It'll be triple-tone blue!

Oddly, they are not Hella, so are not genuine VW parts (I know Hella DOES make body-colored taillight lenses for Golfs etc). Unlike my stock orange units, these have a 3cm-high notch on one corner.

Quality is not good... the surface of the lens is not dead-smooth, and shows mold-tooling marks (sandpaper??); the chroming of the poorly-cast inner is suspect and there are threads & blebs of glue around the seams.

I hope the chrome doesn't peel, the bases don't break and the lenses don't craze or oxidize!!!

I might get the lenses polished before I install them. Meanwhile they can sit in the box for another year or two until the SVX/G50 conversion is done. -- Andrew Grebneff Dunedin, New Zealand 64 (3) 473-8863 <andrew.grebneff@stonebow.otago.ac.nz> Fossil preparator Seashell, Macintosh & VW/Toyota van nut -------------------------------------- Q: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation.
