Mark, I am mounting an Icom 706MKII-G to my Joker. This covers a little more than the CB band but the same idea applies to mounting an antenna. Seeing how I have a high top there is no place on the roof that I can mount it. I will be mounting my two antennas on the bull bar on the front of my van. This isn't the most ideal location, but it is good for me as I can arrange the one on the passenger side to have a small ball on the top of it. This ball will be the real outer corner of the van. Most larger military vehicles have a ball setup like this so that you can tell where the corner is for parking and off roading. I hate putting holes in the body of the van. The only other thing I can see is a gutter clamp next to the engine air intake so that you can feed a wire to it.

I've looked thru the archives on this one and really haven't found quite the answer.

I've got a Cobra 75 WXST and am looking to mount a firestik antenna. Question is, where to mount ? I know the pop top is out of the question and the cell phone look alikes are definatly out.

I would like to use the Firestik antenna's and their mounting kits but am unsure of what to purchase and where to mount !

Vechicle is an 85 Vanagon GL.

Thanks much all..

Mark.
