Yes, I've purchased one of these turn-key 1600cc dual port engines from BAP,
an advertiser in Hot VW's.

It's everything they advertised, and more. Very pleased with the purchase,
and I've been running it about 20 months now. No problems.

What really impressed me about this particular vendor was that about 3 weeks
after I received the engine, a Federal Express package arrived. In it were a
set of Empi chromoly pushrods and a letter explaining that they had some
problems with the aluminum pushrods mushrooming, and as a pre-emptive
measure decided to send out the heavy duty ones.

Sure, it was smart on their part as it saved possible warranty claims, but
they could have just as easily dealt with the problems as they came in, *if*
they came in. For that, they won my allegiance, and for the engine
performing as well as it has, they've retained it. Just wish they did Type
IV's!
