91' GL vanagon had the water pump replaced recently at the dealer place. After the installation, the car now experiences sudden loss of power while driving - engine suddenly lost power disregarding how hard I was pushing the gas peddle. I waited for a few second, restated the engine, ran for a few yards with very little power, then died again. I ended up towing the car back to house - checked the timing, looks OK.

Could the installation of water pump (poor workmanship) cause the car loosing power, temperature sensor, thermostat, etc. Would appreciate your input.

Paul
