Nice here in Alabam!! Sypposed to be in the 60's today. Can't complain about that.

I'm sure some of our Alaska members have some cold to report.

During my life in Alaska I saw -60 at Umiat, up on the north slope. Any engine that was running was kept running and never allowed to shut off. At those temps you never get an engine started again until spring at those temperature. Especially true of diesels.

When I lived in Fairbanks, it was not unusual to be so cold that tires would keep the flat spots for several miles down the road, and you would shake, rattle and roll until the tires warmed enough to flex out the tires to roll smoothly.

Then there is Eagle, where the lowest ever recorded temp in North America was -80 F!!!

Never did get there, though I wanted to. Oh, Well!
